Just wondering what people here think will be the album of the year.I hope the Raconteurs will be a good one.So far I'd have to say Pearl Jam.

So far my albums of the year are:

    1. Pearl Jam
    2. Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped
    3. RHCP - Stadium Arcadium
    4. The Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers
    5. Mark Lanegan & Isobelle Campbell - Ballard of the Broken Seas
    6. Tool - 10,000 Days
    7. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones
    8. The Strokes - First Impressions of Earth

I excpect the last 3 to drop further after hearing Placebo, NoFx, Audioslave and Neil Young's new albums and Arcade Fire's if it comes out this year.

Is this at a certain awards show you're talking about album of the year or my own opinion?.... not really sure on the question, lol.

Anyway, mine is, not surprisingly.... Pearl Jam.

Tool will probably get it though (the award.... if there is one) since its their first in 5 years or something.

so far, it looks like this for me:

    Destroyer - Rubies
Islands - Return To The Sea
Built To Spill - You In Reverse
    Mono - You Are There
Sunset Rubdown - Shut Up I Am Dreaming

looks like indie fandom is going the way of the dodo now that big bands are releasing CDs again. Too bad.

Neil Young - Living with War

I'm not saying this will be in the grammys or ama's...but paste mag, magnet mag, rolling stone even...i think all legit music pubs will give the nod to Neil and his timely, hardcore protest album.

No, I ment Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses). If you release an album after 13 years, and when you were that big like Guns N' Roses in that time. You have automatic the album of the year. And I'm not talking about good or bad.
Everybody wants to hear the new music of Axl Rose.

The best album of this year is Pearl Jam, off course ;)

    indie is so over-rated ;)

anyway, i was kinda disappointed with you in reverse. not a bad album, but not quite what id hoped for i guess.
