White Stripes Song Meanings

Can anyone tell me why Jack White mentions ''Suzy Lee'' in so many of his songs. It's in ''We're going to be friends and more songs and the name is also mentioned in the sleevenotes.I read it was a metaphor for Meg but I'm not so sure because one of the albums says,''To Suzy Lee,whereever she may be.''

Any thoughts?

A lot of WS song lyrics and many of them have quotes about meaning as welll. It has every song up until GBMS, there should be something you could find helpful, hopefully anyway...

Yeah cool site,I think this explains what I was wondering about:

    Jack White:

"I didn't really have much of a great time in grade school, so I like writing about [walking to school with a girl named Suzy Lee and quickly becoming pals]. I write about it a lot - actually having friends in grade school and having a girlfriend or something back then when you really wanted it. Kids are just so cruel sometimes. It's nice to fantasize that they're not."

Interesting, I like look at that site when I am bored sometimes. Some of the meanings behind songs are funny or really cool. He wrote Screwdriver about, you guessed it, a screwdriver laying in a room while he was playing some music.

He has some interesting motivations behind his songwriting. I wish that site was still active for GBMS, I would love to know what his thoughts on some of those are.

Are any of his songs about God?I know Jack is very much a Christian so I was wondering if any of their songs are religous ones, maybe ''God send me an Angel'',if they are they're hard to make out.Is it true he was about to become a priest?

Most of those come from old blues covers where spirituality has a big presence.

What he said, The Stripes do a lot of covers, especially earlier in their career. I really want to hear some quotes on the GBMS songs, his obsession with Rita Hayward is amazing.
