  • Have not listened to the album yet but from what songs/videos I have heard/seen so far they sound like they are "very" Black Sabbath influenced.

Mr Smalls will be a great venue to see them!

I think they will have more staying power than The Darkness simply bc they are decent musicians.

Mind's Eye is one of my favorite songs right now and after seeing them open for PJ twice last week they put on one hell of a rock show.

Their second album will determine if they are for real or not.

Who cares what fads are hip at the moment. Strike out and do ur own thing. Never liked The Darkness anyways, bunch o loonies.

I have the new album in my car on repeat, hasn't gotten stale yet. They kinda sound like a combo of Deep Purple, Led Zep, a hint or so of Rush.... some other funky beats.

A few of their songs are ok, too old-school, zepplin-wannabe-ish for my liking in general though.

WAY WAY too Led Zeppelin for me too...when I first heard them I thought Robert Plant was trying to break into the alt-rock scene (scary thought). I can't stand Zeppelin to begin with (due to Plants vocals) so a band that sounds soooo much like them don't do shit for me.

If you want to check out a GOOD "wolf" band.....WOLF PARADE!!!!! is Awesome

I don't what there is to get excited about.

They are alright, but they're doing nothing new or interesting.

A has been?????? He probably has more projects on the go right now than anyone....just dont expect to hear them on the radio sandwiched between Epic and MidLife Crisis (although Peeping Toms album could get airplay - if the radio played a few more decent/progressive bands every once in a while)

If Jez likes them then im definitely gonna have to check them out. Not sure how the Darkness got brought into this thread but i recall how Cheap Trick was heavily promoting them two years ago and where are they now, lol.

I just started checking out Wolfmother's music today and I got to say it rocks. I think I'm getting hooked on another new band. Listening to the self titled album. To me, they kind of sound like the white stripes with a little bit of Rush or cheap trick influence. Good stuff so far.
