Noel Gallagher 'attacked' at V fest!

Oasis', Noel Gallagher was attacked by an unidentified man during the band's show in Toronto last night. While Noel and the band were performing 'Morning Glory', the assailant ran on from the back of the stage and pushed Noel from behind, who fell heavily on to his monitor speakers.

Despite his injuries, Noel returned to the stage a few minutes later to complete the band's set but was taken to hospital after the show to be examined for a suspected fractured rib and ligament damage. The assailant was detained in police custody and will be charged with assault.

No decision has been made regarding Tuesday's concert in London, Ontario, but fans are urged to keep checking the band's web site Oasisinet.com and local media for updates.

I got tickets for tomorrow's show in London and am hoping for it not to be cancelled, first time I am seeing them and am going with my buddy who is a huge Oasis fan, so I am really looking forward to this.

Completely agree with you. I'm indifferent about Oasis, but I do know one thing....there's no way in hell a fan should have been able to sneak up there and do something like that. Regardless of whether you love or hate the Galleghers, I can't imagine how every one would feel if this was a member of PJ. While I know I sound completely hypocritical here, I'm going to say it anyway....I hope they beat the living shit out of this guy backstage...and then I hope he gets some jail time with a huge ass fine.

I remember being completely shocked to hear about Dimebag Darrell (even though the security was likely less tighter at that particular event). What if this dude was a real psycho and did something more than push him off the stage? Sorry, kind of rambling on a bit.....there's just no excuse for this kind of shit....at the very least if you wanna fight somebody, have the balls to face them....

I absolutely agree, I'm not much of an Oasis fan either, but that sort of behaviour is absolutely inexcusable. And yeah, it could have been much worse. I would love to hear what this wanker's explanation is for why he did it.

I couldn’t tell you one Oasis song or the name of the band members – although I’m familiar with the Gallagher name, that’s about it.
I couldn't have told you their first names.

But that doesn’t mean anything, that could have had a much more severe outcome. Luckily, it appears he suffered only minor injuries.

Maybe if they weren't playing such faggoty music they wouldn't be attacked.

I like how the vocalist tries attacking the guy as he's being held by three other guys. It's just as bad as pushing somebody from behind. That's real tough.

I don't like Oasis AT ALL but c'mon... For the record, if somebody pushed my brother down like that on stage (and we are both in the same band), I'd have my bandmates hold him down while I stomped his nuts into oblivion. And then I'd drag him backstage and get serious about it.

Hmm, lovely homophobic slur there....maybe if the guy didn't like their music, he could have done what any normal person would have done and gone to the bar, or gone to watch a band on another stage.

Like eyedclaar said, if that was your brother being pushed to the floor for no good reason you would probably want to give them a slap too.
