    you sir have impeccable taste...

    1. crime in the city-neil
    2. battle of evermore-l.zep
    3. imagine-lennon/beatles
    4. the boxer-s&g
    5. porcelina of the vast oceans[/i]-t.s.p.

As far as you take me, that's where i believe
The realm of soft delusions, floating on the laves
On a distant shoreline, she waves her arms to me
As all the thought police, and closing in for sleep
The dilly dally, of my bright lit stay
    The steam of my misfortunes
Has given me the power to be afraid
And in my mind i'm everyoneand in my mind
Without a care in this whole world
Without a care in this life
It's what you take that makes it right
    Porcelina of the oceans blue
In the slipstream, of thoughtless thoughts
The light of all that's good, the light of all that's true
To the fringes gladly, i walk unadorned
    With gods and their creations
    With filth and disease
Porcelina, she waits for me there
    With seashell hissing lullabyes
And whispers fathomed deep inside my own
    Hidden thoughts and alibis
    My secret thoughts come alive
Without a care in this whole world
Without a care in this life
It's what you take that makes it right
And in my mind i'm everyone
In my mind i'm everyone of you
    You make it right
    It's all allright
    You make it right
    Porcelina of the oceans blue

Tragically Hip - Leave (I personally guarantee if you download this song you will enjoy it, if you appreciate PJ songwriting, you'll appreciate this)
Soundgarden - The Day I Tried to Live
    Matthew Good Band - Apparitions
Queen of the Stone Age - The Sky is Fallin'
Tragically Hip - It's a Good Life if You Don't Weaken

Fuck that was hard! All of these songs demonstrate PJ comparable songwriting abilities in my opinion.
    Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?

  • I have to agree with Firecloud on this one. Will never be the same for me on any given day/mood, though I have maintained since the day I heard it, that RITFW was the perfect rock song. Essentially only 3 chords, verse-chorus-verse-chorus-verse-chorus, with a kickin', sweetly-sloppy solo thorwn in at just the right moment, and is a protest song against the most powerful man in the world at the time. Perfect.

I pulled these out of my ass:

    Visions of Johanna - Dylan
Rock and Roll - Velvet Underground
    Tomorrow Never Knows - Beatles
Over the Hills and Far away - Zep
Rockin' in the Free World - Uncle Neil
"You would be punctilious in assuming that."
  • to name albums is easier (in no specific order):

    beck - sea change
    cocorosie - noah's ark
low - things we left in fire
mum - finally we are ...no one
jon brion - eternal sunshine of the... ost
    damien rice - o
three fish - the quiet table
explosions in the sky - the earth is not a cold dead place
    sigur ros - ( )
all britney s. albums - lol, just checking if anyone reads this crap and notices :)
mono - walking cloud and deep red sky, flag fluttered and the sun shine
    radiohead - kid a
    the hobos - flashback mornings

ok, there is a problem with choosing only 5...
