Just wondering if there are any fans out there?
I've seen a lot of love on these boards for bands such as Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, but what about FNM?
I've just been listening to The Real Thing, and I remembered why it's one of my all time favourite albums. It has rocking tracks like From Out Of Nowhere and Surprise! You're dead, the classic that is Epic, a fantastic cover of War Pigs, a wonderful instrumental track in Woodpecker From Mars, and huge epic tracks such as Zombie Eaters and The Real Thing. I really could not ask for more.
I'd also rant on about Angel Dust, but I haven't just listened to that.
If anyone has love for this band, let me know here, as I'm not hearing enough!

The Real Thing and Angel Dust are both awesome. I remember I used to Rock these albums non-stop. Then the CD's got stolen and I never replaced them. You're now giving me the itch to go pick one of them up.NERDS!0

I'm still missing a few albums of mine that were stolen. That totally sucks man.
But Angel Dust and The Real Thing are two albums you should not be without!~AKA Dave-of-the-dead~

My band covers "Chinese Arithmetic" from the first album (not Mike Patton singing), and we play a lot of their stuff just for fun when we're fuckin' around. Mike Patton is one of my personal heroes as far as vocalists go. I've learned a lot from listening to him in FNM and Mr. Bungle, and all the other band's he's been in.
We've talked about putting together a Faith No More cover band in the Dallas area...all we'd need is a keyboard player. Anybody in the Dallas/Fort Worth area play keyboards who'd be interested?0 -
I love Faith No More but i'm the only one around here i know of that likes em.....and don't forget King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime.......that album (along with The Real Thing and Angel Dust) is just pure genuis0

Angel Dust is one of my all-time favourite albums.
Before Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, etc... there was Faith No More. Still listen to them to this day (and anything else that Mike Patton does)0 -

Yeah I have some Mr. Bungle stuff, aswell some Fantomas, and some Tomahawk material too.
Mr Bungle are pretty good, Fantomas scared me a bit but I did like it, just might need a few more listens on that one, and Tomahawk are pretty cool.
But my favourite Mike Patton fronted band is and always will be Faith No More!~AKA Dave-of-the-dead~

Rockin' out to Creadles0 -
The Real Thing and Angel Dust were awesome records. They practically changed the face of rock music as we know it in the early nineties...unfortunately they dont get enough recognition.0
-
I changed one man's life by loaning him the first Mr. bungle cd. For him, there is no other band. I'll loan him different things and he'll say, "They're okay, but they're no Mr. Bungle."Rock over London... Rock on Chicago... I love what you do for me Toyota - Wesley Willis0

Angel Dust is absolute sheer blinding genius. Some of the stuff Patton sings is mindblowing. This'll seem ridiculous but he seems to sing notes that no one else does. Check out Caffeine or Kindergarten if you dont believe me (the "and it rolls off the tongue almost" part and the "kindergaaaarrrrrtennn" bit:D)"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0

patton rulz!!!bordin is the best drummer!!!and they totally rock!!!, mr bungle too, has anybody seen the mr bungle's video that they're playing red hot' stuff?, it was on a halloween party, i've got it from the emule,u have too watch it!!.0

i've been listening to fnm alot recently, dont know why, but they seriously rock. But i gotta say, i've been listening to Ugly Kid Joe alot recently as well, now thats an under-rated band.0
-
i used to hear them a lot in the mid 90's.
my fav. record is 'king for a day, fool for a lifetime'.
"Get Out," "Ricochet," "Cuckoo for Caca," "Digging the Grave," "The Last to Know", "Evidence" and of course "Caralho Voador" in good and crystal portuguese...'Go easy, step lightly, stay free!'
You have been banned for the following reason:
inappropriate post.

Kaada/Patton - Romances. Brilliant record.0

Love, love, love, love Faith No More.
I have the 'best of' set called "Who cares a lot?"
"A Small Victory" is one of my all time favorite songsI love my female wife...
we sit around and wonder exactly why our marriage should feel threatened by gay marriage0 -
FNM is one of my all time favorite bands. I also love Bungle, Retrovertigo is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Patton is the man, though Retro was written by Trevor Dunn. I also love Tomahawk. Fantomas in small doses, even though I love Patton and Dunn and Buzz and Lombardo.
Sadly FNM will probably never get back together. Bungle is also pretty much done because Patton and Spruance seem to really dislike each other.0 -
They used to be like smokin' hot (so was Mike Patton ...
) when I was in highschool ... There was PJ, Nirvana, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, RHCP and Faith No More we all listened to.
I agree, The Real thing is a great record, my favorite FNM album ... But you really should give Angel Dust a listen too, even though this album is the least "heavy" of all their albums. I don't know "King for a day, fool for a lifetime" and "Album of the Year" too well nor the Mr. Bungle or other projects of Patton ...RIP Syd ... Shine on you crazy diamond ...0 -
The Real Thing is a deadly album that holds its own today, 17years later I believe.Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?0
