Just listening to CSNY "Deja Vu" and everytime I hear David Crosbys "Almost cut my hair" I think that it would be a perfect song for Pearl Jam to cover.....the lyrics could have been written by Ed and I can hear them doing a 5 minute jam on it like CSNY did on their 8 minute extended version of the song on their box set.
Wonder if any jammers out there know the track. CSNY were great circa 1970.

I feel like quite a few songs on that album would be good PJ covers.

Wooden Ships, on the water, very free, and easy....

So many of those tunes would sound good with Ed's lungs singing them. But as cate put it so well, we've been listening to them for years and they sounded damn fine being sung by CSN&Y too.

That being said, I almost cut my hair the other day.....and then I decided to just let my freak flag fly, you know?

It's kind of funny to me now how when that album came out that was the one song on it that I didn't like all that much. Then I guess it just grew on me. :o
"The stars are all connected to the brain."

Great song. Terrific vocal by Crosby.

I can see PJ covering it.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
  • Definitely a classic album, but I think the 1st CSN album is much better...my favorite album of all-time, actually.
  • Seeing Gov't Mule and Davy Knowles (From Back Door Slam) play this live was freakin awesome!!
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
  • Would make a great cover.....
