"The musicians were celebrating the release of "Body of War," the new documentary about paralyzed Iraq war veteran Tomas Young, who also worked with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder to curate the film's soundtrack. Vedder was caring for an ailing relative and unable to make yesterday's premiere of the film and concert, but the others filled in admirably."

    Ed was to appear with Flea and Jack Irons but cancelled due to family issues

    I thought about that too, but as long as we still "respect his family", i think it should be ok. Im pretty sure if Mike or someone else in the band were going thru something personal, we would all want to be able to wish them well in a general sense.

    As long as it doesnt turn into " hey eddies mom was in the hospital..." or "did you hear about Ed losing his bro...."blah, blah, blah....
