Just *coughdownloadedcough* Bossanova (I'm going to buy the actual disc though now that I have fallen in love with it). They remind me of Talking Heads. I love Dig for Fire and Down to the Well.....their awesome. Any other considerations for me to pick up from them?

every single one of their albums are great. i would suggest getting them all, but if you had to get just one, i would get surfer rosa.
  • Oh I will probably get them all but just one for now.

I love pixies, I recommend "Death to the pixies". That includes a live show from them. Monkey gone to heaven is one of my faves.

  • Sufer Rosa and Doolittle are their best works.

I think Bossanova is the least interesting of their albums, but it's still good. Doolittle is their masterpiece (kind of like Nirvana's Nevermind...every track is great).

On the contrary, I would say it's their MOST interesting album!

    the most incredible band EVER.

not a bad album in their catalog
    the Minions
  • Trompe le Monde is, in my humble opinion, easily the best album the Pixies ever recorded, and really one of the better albums I have ever heard. Letter to Memphis, U-Mass, Motorway to Roswell, U-Mass, Planet of Sound, fucking U-Mass.

    Classic
  • First one I got was Dolittle, it's brilliant.

  • Bossanova is pretty clearly, to me, their worst. I'd get Doolittle first, then Surfer Rosa & Come On Pilgrim (you can find them together in one CD even though they are a separate CD and EP), then Trompe Le Monde. Death To The Pixies was where I started with them and it's a great collection of some hits, but it's better to go for the real albums.

death to the pixies is where i started (well my older brother lent me it....
yes the same one who helped with Talking Heads cd....!!)

tromple le monde considered their spacey/surf rock record and initially
a sad way to go out.....however all 4 albums and come on pilgrim are
a must in any collection.....particularly when u got em all signed by
    mr francis!!!!!
