I've noticed all I do now is listen to live music. Is it me or is live music the fucking ultimate. I hardly ever listen to studio albums (besides Tool, Porno for Pyros and Modest Mouse). I have a shit load a boots I listen to daily. God damn, lets hear it for live music!

  • Yep. I nearly always prefer live albums over the studio. Even if they're actually crap. I just love live music and listening to it as it is.
  • When I started listening to live boots, the first one I got was PJ in Amsterdam 1992-02-12 and I loved it! I listened to it loads for a while and then got more and more boots of more and more different bands. Basically I didn't listen to studio albums for a long time.

While I still love boots they've given me a greater appreciation for studio albums. All the mixing and effects and stuff that doesn't come across or is left out in live performances.

Sometimes I'll feel like sticking on the new boot i've just downloaded and other times I'll go for a studio cd, but they're both really satisfying. It just depends on mood for me.

I agree, I only have one live PJ song, but every bob marley song I have is live (exept one) And if I can I'll get a live song over a studio song anyday.
Its like the live version is actually worth more lol

I'm in this camp, I go to way too many shows, and the older I'm getting, I'm willing to travel farther and farther to see bands I love ....

I do listen to some live recordings, but, I only listen to live shows I was at ...

It depends on what mood I'm in. don't have much live stuff outside pj, except other various bootlegs.

Good boot to check out Manic Street Preachers - 9X 1996.

James Dean Bradfield playing 'This Is Yesterday' on his own with acoustic guitar. Awesome. It's like he's got a 12 string.
