Yeah, the screaming is a bit much, but I really like that song. As always, Ben comes through with a ridiculous slide guitar jam in the middle. And yes, that bassline is terrific.

I cant get over how good this song is. Ben Harper contributes so much originality to modern radio its a joke.

I love the screaming it fits perfectly but it is surprising at the same time. Thats probably the best way to describe the whole song.

what style is this? is it a more rocking song of his or another of his offbeat tracks? faded/ground on down or steal my kisses/with my own two hands?

I just heard the song and saw the video...and I am pretty impressed with the song!

The slide guitar jam in the middle was pretty sweet...and I love the sitar in there as well.

The video has a real Power of the People, dogged belief in pluralism feel. It was a bit offputting for me toward the end when everyone starts raising their right arm high in the air. Overall though, I really like the video. The actual song reminds me of Ben Harper's take on "Sunshine Happy Day", yet I really dig it. I think what he actually says during the screaming part is a really moving angry yet optimistic reaction to the world we live in. However, I don't like how it sounds with his scream. He explains at his official site that he tried several different ways of delivering that part and finally decided that because of the sentiment of the lyrics the only thing he could do was scream it out.

And when I first heard the bridge of Worldwide Suicide with Eddie screaming about there being another way, I instantly thought of this song.
