Last night was a religoius experience to me. I went to the Beacon Theater in NYC to see what i thought was going to be a great show... Well I was wrong...IT WAS PHENOMENAL!

It was a Jimi Hendrix tribute concert with about 15 of the most amazing guitar players I have ever seen. From Buddy Guy, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, to Robert Randolph, Mick Taylor and Robbie Krieger. Mitch Mitchel from the orginal Jimi Hendrix Experience played drums part of the night.

WOW... how do you get that much talent on one stage? I guess you add the name that says it all... JIMI HENDRIX....

it was a killer show... it played at seveal locations in the east coastand ended in NY last night... if you get a chance to see this anytime soon... if they add dates... DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!!

it will be the closest you ever get to seeing Jimi... Close your eyes and you will beleive he is there.

    How was Mitch's drumming?

seemed a bit slow... but he was cool as hell... Seeing Kreiger on stage was a trip... when do you get to see former members of Jimi Hendrix, the Doors and The Stones all on the same stage?

Sounds like a great show. I know someone who went to the one at the Paramount in Seattle, back in '04. Mike was at that, but his performance was rather low key, apparently.

I have a lot of gripes with Janie Hendrix and the whole Experience Hendrix project in general, but this tour is a great thing. I wish it would come to the UK.

Buddy Guy is so ridiculously good. He is by far my favorite blues musician. Puts on a great live show too.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.
  • I saw that show on monday night as well. never saw any of the people there before, bobby krieger was great, kenny wayne sheppard is amazing. mitch was barely drumming (but i think he thought he was, he kept looking surprised when he reached for the cymbal, missed, but the other drummer hit his). who was the guy with the tall hat, kind of heavy-metal looking? he fucking brought the house down. also, who was that opener who kept returning? he played the slide with his heineken bottle, then ran his guitar up and down the mic stand. buddy guy was interesting (and great), but with all of his starting and stopping, i can see how seeing him for two hours would get kind of annoying. overall though, great fucking night. guitars on top of guitars on top of guitars.
look into the eyes of the fallen.....you got to know there's another..another..another..another..way.

the guy in the hat was the guitar player for Kid Rock... the other guy with the beer bottle was Eric Gales. He was awesome... it was wild to see so many left handed guitar players on one stage.

  • How was Kenny Wayne? I have always liked him, and always thought he was underrated.
