The Pixies?

Knowing all the music I do, I am somehow not too familiar with The Pixies. Did they have any hits or songs that get radio play? Anybody know where I could hear some samples? From what I have read about them, they seem like my kinda music.

'where is my mind' became more popular after the movie 'fight club'
but they have a whole lotta great songs, my favorites being 'hey' and 'debaser'
You have been banned for the following reason:
inappropriate post.
'Too many people on this earth. We need a new plague.' - Dwight Schrute
You;d be really hard pressed to find a bad song on that album. Debaser, Hey, Monkey Gone To Heaven, Wave Of Mutilation, and Gouge Away are all fantastic Surfer Rosa is real good too, but Pixies is totally where its at for me.
the pixies were a very important band because even though they didn't get much play and the average listener didn't have an opportunity to hear them, they impacted other musicians in a big way.

Tell them you love them. Never let the mundane, the unimportant, or worse, the misunderstood, be the final words of parting.
Tell them.
I was playing it in the car to work this morning, as it goes.
I think you forgot Monkey Gone To Heaven also Debaser was pretty big as a single back in the day.:)
Personal 5 favourite tracks Gigantic, Dig For Fire, Alec Eifel, Motorway to Roswell and Gouge Away.:)
I love the cover the Pixies do of the song from Eraserhead - In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song).
this monkey has gone to heaven
debaser!
IN HEAVEEEENNNNN everything is fine......
wow. I just saw that movie for the first time last weekend.
holy cow was that wierd.
"Just like regular chicken!"
Fantastic movie. One of my faves. Check out other David Lynch films if you haven't already done so.
Naked Lunch, Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks that guy has some fucked up things going on in his head, I like it, I liked it even more back when i still used to take LSD:D
Mine are debaer and where is my mind.
Because I don't know where my mind is. Hahahaha

No where near as good as the Placebo one. But then again I am not a James Blunt fan at all.

i thought i was a blunt fan. i think maybe i just got carried away cause i love goodbye my lover. but i did buy the album. and let's face it brian molko is almost untouchable. him and ALL his pansy shit(as he says). his voice melts me sometimes. plus he made me cry, so he's got me for life.
take a good look

Well, I won't go that far, but mister Molko is held in high regard in this house.

I'd recomend you buy all the studio albums there are only 4 and they are all awesome in their own way. I cant find a pixies song I don't love and for such a quality band all the albums should be brought instead of a best of. I'd recomend getting Doolittle or Surfer Rosa first then Trompe Le Monde and Bossanova.

Gigantic, Monkey Gone to Heaven, Here Comes Your Man, Where Is My Mind?...are the ones that come to mind, when it was a 'hit' during the 80s.:)
