  • Hell yeah! I love The Vines! Very underrated band, quite frankly.

I can think of voices that are much worse, plus its rock music, if voice was that important you would listen to Celine Dion or some boring shit like that.

Again im sorry but i disagree. If a band has a singer who's voice i really dont like then i wont be able to listen to them.

I dont mean in terms of how good a singer he is, the sound of it just annoys me.

An awesome debut album.....probably the best record of 2002 :)

They should have called it a day then and there though.....their second record was average at best.

The Vines make us sad. We loved the first record. Loved it. Great songwriting.

I too loved the debut album, played it many times. But the second record was pretty average, with only a couple of songs that were memorable, and even those, I haven't listened to in over 3 years. Oh well, no clue what happened to them after, but the first record I still spin once in a while...

  • the first album was pretty good, but the second blew it away, IMO. i thought that they had really found a great sound for them on the second record, especially the slower, more melodic tracks. very much in the vein of oasis via beatles. the third record was pretty disappointing though.

Agreed on all counts. After the 3rd record was released, I compiled a disc of my favorite album tracks, b-sides and one or two demos. The majority of it was either from the 2nd album or the 2nd album sessions.

The vocal harmonies and song structures are incredible on that album! The 3rd record wasn't nearly as good as an overall album, but it does have some killer cuts!

i am a huge fan of the vines. i think that people let their opinion of craig nichols behaviour colour their opinion of the music the vines make. i saw them live in january and their performance and the response from the crowd is something i wont forget any time soon. i have a lot of time for them as a band.
