A song and band that are definitely guilty pleasures for me. Something about this band is very cheesy.

    Jeff Lynne is a phenomenal songwriter, singer, and producer...and that's what makes ELO so great. I can do without the cheesy backing vocals and keyboards that are in some of their songs, but goddamnit are they class! A New World Record and Out Of The Blue are just..."power pop" genius. It makes today's "power pop" music sound like garbage.

    P.S. check out the live version of "Strange Magic" from the Live At Winterland disc. It's electric keyboard driven, with no drums. A really great version.

    Only a brief lull. The next album "Time" was brilliant.
