i know that's why i'm just gonna take a deep breath & let it go... neil even came out & said they always considered themselves an aussie band as opposed to a kiwi one. sometimes the truth just hurts

john butler trio is the only current aussie band I can think of.

You're going to have a hard time convincing me that australia is more thriving music wise than canada.

The best music in the world is coming out of canada right now

yep. so far this thread has only reminded me of how many shit bands come from australia (with nick cave & dappled cities fly being the exceptions). compare those to the likes of arcade fire, new pornographers, neil young, stars, it's no competition

I like both. More bands I love come from Canada, but that could be because I am Canadian, and I am exposed to more music from my own Country. I refuse to say one is better than the other though because I have very little to go on.

Somehow I can't believe this wave of Canuck indie rock is the best music in the world. I could have sworn the best music in the world was made in america.

    And Brazil... :shifty:

That said, Canada is the home of April Wine: therefore Canada wins.

between these assholes along with Jet and Silverchair how can you not give it to Canada? like I understand that even if Canada and the Aussies were tied for good bands you to penalize them for the wretched shit they put out so fucking frequently

Edit-forgot the vines they suck pretty hard to

You am I are incredible, especially live. Tim Rogers is one of my favourite lyricists so for me Australia wins right there. But then Canada does have Nickelback........

Quoting Todd76 from another thread, this should be more than enough firepower for my beloved home country of Canada. Plus I'll add Matt Good to my personal list. Can't forget Neil Young either.
    Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?
