The Washington Heights Community Arts Project (WHCAP) emerged as an idea from local artists that want to expose their presence to the community at large, and bring awareness to residents of how art can be part of their lives, furthermore, how they can also participate in its creation. Our projects tend to be multimedia fusions incorporating photomontage, painting, video and music into one main result. Prior to the implementation of the project, we are seeking small individual artist grants, while hosting a series of multimedia showcases in order to spread awareness of this undertaking. We hope you will join and support us at these wonderful events we have coordinated and will continue to coordinate.
