I have been listening to this song by Alice In Chains lately and it is blowing me away.. anyone else a fan of this song??
While its a great song, it's actually one of my least favorite on Jar of Flies. Don't Follow is probably my personal favorite. Or Nutshell. Or Rotten Apple. Or Swing on This. Or No Excuses. Damn, that's a great group of songs. (Whale and Wasp is a great instrumental, also.)
I really love all these Alice in Chains threads popping up. It's awesome.
"Strangers passing in the street, by chance two seperate glances meet, and I am you and what I see is me."
I Stay Away was the 3rd Alice song i ever heard (Rotten Apple, Nutshell, I Stay Away; first three tracks on Jar Of Flies) and is the song that made me listen to their other albums.
However, after i got the Music Bank DVD and watched the Video, i cringe everytime i hear it. MAN that video blows.
I love the song - it has this eerie quality about it that just stays with you and haunts you forever. Jar of Flies rules....
~I want to realize brotherhood or identity not merely with the beings called human, but I want to realize identity with all life, even with such things as crawl upon earth.~
Mohandas K. Gandhi
~I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a moment, while I was hoeing in a village garden, and I felt that I was more distinguished by that circumstance than I should have been by any epaulette I could have worn.~
Henry David Thoreau
That song rules. The video is really cool too, with the circus getting all fucked up from the flies buzzing around...man I havent seen that in forever...
