    i had the best time of my life today.

    anytime i hear that that nickelcrack at work, i would just turn the radio station to easy soft listening (just for a few minutes, until nickelcrack get's cleaned off the airwaves); which get's the guy's at the jobsite looking at me very differently. hahaha

    Because Nickelback is terrible.. downright terrible. They do not deserve to make the type of music they do and have that much success... but I guess the street goes both ways... since people do listen to it, they deserve to make it.

    I don't see anything wrong with Nickelback actually, people just judge them by their singles or just hop on the bandwagon of people who don't like them.

    I despise Nickelback but I often wonder if it weren't for them, who would all of the Pearl Jam fans demonize? I mean Creed broke up several years ago now.

    Not to derail the thread too much, but the first single that Alter Bridge came out with really wasn't all THAT bad. It sounded like a cover band's version of a lost B side to Superunknown, to be honest. Nowhere near as good as any of the songs on the actual album, but not terrible either.

    yeah, seriously. i was just gonna say the same thing. personally i think nickelback is a big steaming pile of.......but yeah.....i never hear them or any other shit corporate cock rock bands because i don't listen to shit radio stations and i don't watch mtv/vh1. so whether or not they break up will really have no affect on my life. i think the only time i have to put up with this horrible music is when i go to a bar and someone plays it on the jukebox. to the people who care, when are you forced to listen to these guys to the point where their breakup will improve your life?

    I don't see anything wrong with them, but I don't see anything right about them either.

    There are bands that are good at manufacturing easy to swallow crap. Can't totally knock them for that. Artistic expression is the true victim.

    Why defend bands like Nickleback?

    They are terrible, talentless corporate whores.

    They add nothing to society, their art is vile, and they are nothing more than stagnent lingering piles of dog shit, blocking the road, and hogging the spotlight from at least a 1000 more talented and deserving bands.

    You can't tell me that Nickelback deserves this success. You can't tell me that radio plays this band because they are making groundbreaking, interesting, and unique music.

    let me just clarify, because you seemed to have missed my point. my point is that it's very obvious people have some hostility towards bands like nickelback for putting out bad music. i don't really hate anyone, especially based on their musical tastes, but it wasn't to be taken literally. just saying if you are angry about this music being popular, blame the people that buy it, the band is garbage in my opinion, but they're just trying to make a living. maybe they like what they are doing....but they certainly are not soley responsible for this kind of music controlling the airwaves.
