If anyone didn't know Smashing Pumpkins did 2 residencies. 9 Shows at the Orange Peel in Asheville (Capacity 942!) and then 11 shows at the Filmore in San F in 2007. First disc is documentry about the band since it got together and the journey through the shows.

It's an epic 4 hours and 31 mins of footage so its worth every penny.
This DVD is such a deep insight into the pumpkins reforming. Im halfways through the 2nd disc and just wondered what other people thought? I'd be suprised if anyone off this forum actually has it seeing of all the bullshit thats happened around here recently.

Don't really want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen but it really is awesome if you are a true Pumpkins fan. You Really get into the mindset of band and some questions that I had at that time and still do have been answered. Plus I love the bonus interview with Pete Townshend, funny.

  • really?? i was SO disappointed with the DVD...

if thats truly the mindset of the band then i feel bad for the "true fans"... billys really one of those guys IMO that youre better off not knowing him as a person... ive always been a HUGE fan of the music but have intentionally not followed them as obsessively as PJ cause ive always known billy to be a dick...

his little freak out while wearing his moo moo about james getting credit for 2 fuckin songs was childish... and then their backstage pow wow about ending the show without a proper encore because fans didnt enjoy their 20 minutes jam session enough  ... and his attitude towards those crazy bitches who carved his head... either ignore them or give em a proper hello... dont invite them over and then act like youre too cool...

i guess i just dont understand billys pseudo-generation x'iness... ive followed PJ and NIN for so long that ive been spoiled by grateful frontmen

i thought the set could've been better too... they had enough shows that they couldve picked and chose just the highlights

my favorite part is the acoustic rehearsals... and it was nice to get a little more familiar with the new members

    HAHAHAH

when you march your OJ ass down the store!
  • Going to the LA show tonight...have seen the setlists that they tend to rotate between the 2-night stands, could be a little more hits-heavy, but I still can't wait! And I'm in the pit!

Anyone else going? I'm going tomorrow night too...
