Smashing Pumpkins @ Kansas city ? Anyone go!?

Halfway through the "White Crosses" set tonight, right after the full Smashing Pumpkins Orchestra played "A Song for a Son", Billy came back on stage with Jeff and a couple of acoustic guitars. After chatting for a bit with the audience and explaining his recent battles with winter colds, from which he was still clearly suffering, Billy did something that both surprised and delighted fans.
As he poked fun at himself, the crowd, and all of the disgruntled bloggers who would most certainly whine and moan to the tune of a thousand profanities about how they didn't pay money to hear Billy talk, Billy mentioned that what the Smashing Pumpkins is really about are "Good Times". He and Jeff proceeded to improvise a song about "Good Times." And then, as Billy and the crowd good-naturedly bantered back and forth, Billy admitting that he was in a bit of a good mood likely because of his medication, Billy started taking requests. "You want to hear 'Geek USA' on acoustic? Ok, ready Jeff?" And then they played a twenty second tease, followed by the same of "I Am One" and "33". To top it off, Billy played a few riffs of "Smells Like Teen Spirit", ironically pandering to the crowd. "Do you remember that song? That song took us to a whole new level."
Overall, it was an extraordinarily fun performance. Stay tuned for a more complete and thorough review.
