YO

Just wandered if anyone knew this band and like them. I got their 4 albums and actually listened today and they are just so fucking cool.

I hesistated about the screaming but iam pretty cool with it now, its nicely controlled unliked metalcore bands today.

The drumming especially is brilliant, stands out the most for me. Probably why i enjoy - in the absence of truth most atm.

so anyone else know them?

    Big fan of Oceanic here.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

For sure, dood....Isis is a fantastic band. I'm always glad to see threads for 'em. In Fiction is one of my fav songs ever. I've seen them 5 or 6 times by now I think. Great performers, and they're just in it for the music...gotta love that.

I saw the title and thought you were talking about the 70's tv show.

Oceanic is by far my favorite. i was a little disapointed in In The Absence of Truth. i felt some of the songs were just too long and didn't go anywhere. not really down with the way Aaron Turner's clean vocals were recorded either. i'll buy the new one but if it's more of the same that's it for me. i'll stick with Oceanic and The Red Sea EP. i have all the live cd too (except Vol. 1).

I really like Isis' music - can find it difficult to get away witht he vocals at times though! My other half loves them.

They were exceptionally good live though!

these types of bands were made to see live. Incredible how they are able to create that atmosphere in a live setting.
