so my son calls me at work says he is going to a show with his best friend and his dad and older brother, my son is 12 i said ok i trust his best friends father but he does not know who the band is and they are driving into manhattan when he gets home at 1:00am this morning i said who was the band he says "RANCID" i was thrilled another metal fan was born lat night too cool......
jesus greets me looks just like me ....

    Very cool! Rancid is most certainly Punk band though.

    thanks did not really now that i mean i've heard of them from years ago but anyway i'm glad it was them as long as it was a band with people playing instruments his next will be with me when pj comes back around....

    If you'd like to take his interest a little further, might I be so bold as to suggest you take him to a music store and by him a copy of Rancid's "...And Out Come the Wolves". This is by far their best and most successful album, they most certainly played a few songs off of it at the show. If you plant the musical seed there is no telling what might grow :)

    thanks for the info i will look for that cd and yes i hope he gets the music bug i was waiting for him to be 1 year older to take him to his first pj show and as it turns out he will be 13 by the time they come back to ny i hope it's not when he is 14 that would be 2 years from now whoa i hope to see them before that.

    I saw Rancid in 98 on the Warped tour at Mohawk Park in Tulsa. They put on a really good show. Lots of crowd surfing to dodge though.

    thanks folks for the feedback it's funny how things work out all i listen to for the past 15 years or so has been pj i thought for sure his first show would be a pj show, next time i get to a pj gig he will be happy i have a very low 10c # gets me up front for all the shows i attend will be sweet for him........
