BSSM was their big album, but not their best.
try Room on fire (Aeroplane kinda blows but..), mother's milk or heck...just get the greatest hits and go from there. I liked californiacation...but it was just too clean cut (over produced)
And I won't make the same mistakes
(Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
(And function)
Function is the key
Check out The Uplift Mofo Party Plan(87) and Mother's Milk(89).
What I would truly reccomend though, is working your way through they're catalogue chronologicaly.:)
14/09/06, 16/09/06, 17/09/06, 19/09/06, 20/09/06 ~ The Stone lookalike leg of the 2006 tour
18/06/07 - Amazing, just amazing
04/07/06 ~Proud to be part of the AIC Astoria Crew~
Rockin' out to Creadles
CALIFORNICATION, CALIFORNICATION,CALIFORNICATION,CALIFORNICATION,CALIFORNICATION,CALIFORNICATION, that album kicks em all
its very good
Yes I agree but the original poster already stated that he/she didn't much like that album. Therefore we were recommending other albums

wow had no idea---that that indicates what kind of music you're probably more inclined to.
Today-By the Way(Stadium Arcadium's predecessor)
I'd give BSSM another chance, but in between that and Californication was One Hot Minute...some love it, some hate it, some think its ok. A lot different than their other stuff.
Some die just to live.
Walk on with hope in your heart
YNWA
Try By the Way, some of the songs on the new one are close to those songs.
- Mothers Milk
- Blood Sugar Sex Magic
Lol, incidentally my fav song off the 2nd disk. The memories of '91 come flooding back.
glad im not the only one who saw that
My favorite album so far is By the Way. I think it is an incredible album. Stadium Arcadium I will need some more time with before i make a judgement. I would say go with earlier stuff if you like more funk sounding chili peppers but i would got with more recent if you like more laid back chilled peppers. not to say that all their albums don't have both but generally that's how it is.
Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Stadium Arcadium
By the Way
Mother's Milk
Californication................
BY THE WAY RULES!!!!
Couldnt agree more. Get By the Way if you like the new sound its quite good and in the same mold as the Stadium Arcadium stuff. Honestly though they dont have a bad album. Its great to listen to the peppers catalogue and see the way that they have progressed over the years. Each album is just another amazing step in their evolution!
2003- MSG 1 & 2
2006- Irving Plaza, Albany, NJ 1 & 2
2008- MSG 1 & 2
2008- EV NYC 2
I like One Hot minute a ton also. But honestly they haven't put out anything below greatness.
everything other than by the way is funky to a degree
Delivered him wings, "Hey, look at me now
