My friend was telling me that Mad Season recorded some other songs besides the ones that appear on "Above". If that is true, does anyone know the names of the songs or can point me in the direction to find them? Thanks.

  • There have been rumors that Mad Season recorded a double album's worth of songs without vocals after Above. I believe they were hoping to get Layne back at the time. Then Mark Lanegan was supposed to take Layne's place. Obviously nothing ever came of it.

It would be awesome if they released some of that material if it indeed exists....

It would be sweet if there was a Mad Season reunion. There was suppost to be a AIC tribute album with McCready and Langen covering "Frogs". For some reason it never came out. Here's the link for that AIC tribute album: http://www.metalunderground.com/news/details.cfm?newsid=14836

  • After doing some searching, I found out that they covered the John Lennon song "I Don't Wanna be a Soldier". Any more rarities besides that?

yeah, I've heard that too...also heard that when Lanegan was going to take Layne's place they were going to change their name...it's a shame that they have only released that one album, i think a lot of people would go buy anything new by them when/if it were to be released

I've heard that Mad Season also recorded a cover of "Voodoo Child". "I Don't Wanna Be A Soldier" and "Voodoo Child" are the only tracks that were not on the album.

Anybody else hear about Mad Season recording Voodoo Child? That song would be sweet especially with Mad Season's bluesy style.
