I stumbled upon my Toadies CD (rubberneck) last night. I loaded it into the Ipod and listened to it again on the train coming in to work.

What happened to those guys? That was such a good album.

Toadies were a post-grunge band from Fort Worth, Texas. The band's final lineup consisted of Todd Lewis, Mark Reznicek, Lisa Umbarger, and Clark Vogeler.

They are best known for the hit single "Possum Kingdom," from their album Rubberneck. This song was named after Possum Kingdom State Park, in Palo Pinto County, Texas.

The band formed in 1989. Toadies officially disbanded in 2001, although they had farewell concerts in 2002. The band is doing a reunion show, headlining the Greenville Ave St. Patrick's Day parade on March 11, 2006 in Dallas, TX.

Toadies toured extensively throughout the 1990s, opening for such artists as Red Hot Chili Peppers, White Zombie, Bush, and The Butthole Surfers. They also headlined and co-headlined tours with acts such as Brutal Juice, Baboon, Supersuckers, and The Reverend Horton Heat.

Since disbanding, members of the band have gone on to other projects. Todd Lewis is now in The Burden Brothers and Mark Reznicek is now in Eleven Hundred Springs.

  • There is a live album out that's pretty good with a Pixies cover on it.

Todd is the lead singer in a band called The Burden Brothers now. Check out their music, sounds alot like the Toadies but much harder. These guys are great live so check em out if they make it to your neck of the woods (they mostly tour texas and surrounding states).

It's a good album too, not quite as good as Rubberneck, but if you liked Rubberneck you'll probalby like their 2nd album too. Definitely a band I wish I could have heard more from.
  • I saw that the reunion show was happening next month, but only Todd and the original drummer were participating. New lead guitar player, and new bass player. Sad. One of the bands that really was underappreciated when they were around. Hell below Stars above was a great album. In know a lot of people didn't care for it, or didn't hear it, but it is really good. A little more polished and mature than Rubberneck. The Burden Brothers are ok, but the toadies they are not. I was stoked when I heard about the combo of Taz and Todd in the same band, but was a bit dissapointed.
What ain't a country I ever heard of. Do they speak English in what?

Just the bass player will be new. Clark Played Guitar on the Hell Below/ Stars Above album. The reunion show is Happening on March 11th and they are headlining the event which will put them on stage from 4pm-6pm. I never got to see them on the farewell tour, so I am excited. Also, as someone already mentioned check out Todd's (or Vaden as he now calls himself) band the Burden brothers. I've seen these guys and they are REALLY good! Met them all after the show. However Casey Orr is no longer in the band. The guy from Slow Rosevelt has since taken his spot.
