Does anyone else watch music dvd's religiously? My friends think I'm nuts because I have so many, but my wife and I watch them all the time. We've been watching the U2 Vertigo 2005 tour dvd a lot since it came out in November. Some of our favorites are...

Pearl Jam-"TB 2000" "Showbox" "Garden"
U2 "Elevation-2001" and "Vertigo-2005" concerts
Rolling Stones " 4 Flicks" "Voodoo Lounge-94" "Bridges-97"
DMB "Listener Supported" "Central Park" "Folsom" 'Videos"
Jimmy Eat World "Believe in What You Want"
Aerosmith "You Gotta Move"
R.E.M. "Best of Videos 1988-2003"
Live- "Best of the Videos"

We also have a ton on VHS, but it sucks because its harder to jump around

AW HELL YEAH Pearls and Stones...i haven't bought a cd in 2 years (w/the exception of band cd's @ their shows). I have however bought several dozen music vid's and really enjoy sitting down and "taking in a show." If you have a simple surround system and a good tv then it doesn't get better than that. On my 5 disc @ the moment is Live8, U2 Elevation 2001, Roger Waters Live Portland,Oregon 2001 (KILLER!!), and Woodstock '99. Also enjoy Incubus Live and David Gilmore Live. Good stuff.

Zeppelin's "How the West Was Won" may be the best dvd i own. It's got the straight foward blues concert from '69 and then it's got all the hits and what not filmed throughout their career. Plus it's got a bunch of bonus footage that is really good too.

    others worth mentioning

    -Alice in Chains Unplugged
-Queens of the Stone Age:Over the river through the years (something like that)
"Tonight we're just gonna play you some good old American Rock and Roll." tom petty-7-15-05
  • im completely addicted to music dvds and prefer ones that are full length shows

my fave is marley's rainbow room show...OMG

count me in. all the pj ones are great of course. a few others:
blind melon- live at the metro
    oasis- familiar to millions
u2- vertigo tour, go home! live from slane castle (both are stellar)

i also think the following two are great documentaries, one on the making of a great rock album and the other touring to support a great rock album:
wilco- i am trying to break your heart (best music dvd ive ever seen)
death cab for cutie- drive well, sleep carefully

The Zeppelin dvd is title "Led Zeppelin". How the West Was Won is the name of the live cd that was released the same day. Its the combination of 2 shows in California.

One of my favorites is Mastodon's Workhorse Chronicles. Live videos for every song on remission, leviathan, and early ep's.

Awesome footage and great interviews with the band.
