Help! Looking for a particular song from 2000

I am trying to think of this song that was played on "alternative" rock stations around 200-2001 that was kind of mellow and was sung by a band with a male vocalist that had some lyrics about (forgive me if these are ALL messed up)...

Sorry, I'm barely remembering it. But I thought I saw it played on XM once and the band's name was something like "Aristocrats" or ???? I don't know!! ANY help would be so appreciated. It's driving me crazy!!! :O
