Anyone have this release? What are your thoughts about his first live release?

I downloaded a couple songs on Itunes that I liked from previous albums. I think they are really well done

Cool! I didn't even know this was coming out. I just checked out his website and it looks like the first 12 songs were released on iTunes on Oct. 7th, while the other 8 songs will be available on Nov. 4th when the physical double-CD is released in stores.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

This album was up into the 40's for a bit on the itunes album chart, so a few lucky Americans know of him

I don't know, I saw him in San Francisco on that last acoustic sweep through the states and it wasn't exactly the most awe-inspiring turn out, heard the same from friends who caught him at other stops too.

I really don't understand why he isn't more popular here.

Oh well, that's just more for the rest of us.

Marketing, they market to the masses. It is just a shame that the world knows Canadian musicians as Nickleback, Alanis, and Celine. When threre is world calibure ones like Matt, Dallas Green, the Hip ect...
  • 10 out of 5 stars for this one.....highly enjoyable.

I agree, all my cousins in the states are SLOWLY getting turned on through me to all the great Canadian stuff!!
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
  • Great CD; hearing Hospital Music tunes live with full band is nice, as when I saw him it was just him and a guitar.
    Keep on rockin'!
