    You'd think people would use their time wisely, trashing bands that are genuinely awful, rather than bands that they just don't like, if they have to do it at all.

    Christ, I'm an opinionated twat but I don't recall ever starting a thread about how much Def Leppard suck. Who cares? Chime in on another Sigur Ros thread by all means but really, what is the point of threads like this?

    I think Sigur Ros are great, but they're responsible for inspiring a lot of crap.

    I was drunk when I started the thread and had just been in a discussion with a friend about whether Sigur Ros sucked or not...you're right it was unnecessary......withdrawn.

    i am not a fan at all but i don't think they're crap. there's much crappier bands out there than Sigur Ros.

    Sounds like musical somnambulism to me, doesn't leave any definite negative impression, just doesn't appeal.

    Generally more listenable than PJ rip-offs/derivatives though.

    At its worst, post-rock is bland and samey. It's never particularly horrific.

    Nah, yarly chuggalong crap is alright for jogging or going to the toilet, or doing mundane tasks. Cheapo post-rock makes me want to run someone over, and I don't even drive. :D

    I think I like the idea of Sigur Ros more than I actually like them. I can listen to one or two songs, and think it's the best thing ever, but then not need to hear anything from them for months.
