This is in direct response to the 'Why Does Canadian Music Suck?' thread.

There is a musician based out of Montreal who has been getting a lot of buzz lately. His name is Lee Mellor. He just released his independent debut, 'Ghost Town Heart', which has drawn very good reviews from local papers around Ontario and Quebec. His album is available on Itunes and at Chapters stores around Canada, and at http://www.cdbaby.com

It's a really, really good album. I was shocked actually, by how good it is. His lyrics are Dylan-ish, in that he uses his songs to tell stories, with eloquence and grace beyond his years.

Check out some of his songs at http://www.myspace.com/leemellor , this is one debut album that really shows promise, and if it gets some mainstream attention, could really get this talented guy some attention. I saw him perform at a tiny bar in Kitchener Ontario, to a crowd of about 10 people. This guy deserves a bigger audience, and I think a lot of people on here might find they really like his music.

Songs to check out: Girl on the Highway, Blow my Heart Out of the Night'. Tumbleweed', 'St Lawrence River'.
