I'm more of a Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space) fan, although Blowout Comb is great. I think basically jazz rap went out of fashion, that's what happened to them. Wikipedia cites creative differences. I guess some of them wanted to move on.

Anyway, I love Digable Planets when I'm in the mood to chill out. Any hip-hop that samples Rahsaan Roland Kirk and Sonny Rollins is going to interest me.

  • Check out CHERRYWINE and LADYBUG MECCA for projects post-Planets. Note that neither sound anything remotely similar to the Digable Planets material.
