Dont judge a book by its cover!

The name comes off like it would be some hard core metal..

...However...

Its nice folky music. The girl singer is really good. Good lyrics, good groove.

Ive been very impressed with the limited amount that I have heard.

You can listen to some of their songs by going to their website, they start playing a whole bunch of songs automatically.http://www.theheartlessbastards.com/main.html

Into The Open is great. So is A Blue Day, Grey, and New Resolution are my fav 4 right now.

If you havnt checked them out, you should.

I actually gave them a chance watching the Lolla webcast, killing time before KOL and PJ.

They would be an interesting opening band or PJ...

I first saw them a few years ago opening for the Drive By Truckers. Great band, you'd never know the singer had such a strong voice by looking at her, really suprised me.

Both their albums (Stairs and Elevators and All This Time) are very good, well worth a listen.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

one of my favorite bands! my brother-in-law got gave me their white vinyl as a bday gift last year and i was hooked.

they have a new song posted on their myspace page called "The Mountain" & it sounds great...the slide work is perfect IMO. from what i've read, they have a new record coming out in January.

    also--
we're going to ACL this weekend & are very much looking forward to their set @ the festival and at Emo's on Friday. :)

I saw them open for Wilco last year. Really enjoyed the first couple songs, but after a while everything started to sound the same. I still intend to check out the albums someday though. The singer does have a great voice.

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
