STP show last night

I saw STP in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan last night. It was at a casino of all places. The venue only held 1300 people, so it was a pretty intimate show. We are still wondering wondering why the hell they would play such a small venue. I know that they cannot sell out arenas, but this was ridiculously small.

With the reviews recently saying that Weiland was not doing well, I was a little afraid. (especially when they were an hour late coming on last night). But, the show was truly enjoyable. Of course it was a greatest hits show...which was cool for me, because I had never seen them live. (though I wanted to see "Where the River Goes" above all other songs, and they did not play it)

Weiland and the band put everything into the show and seemed truly happy to be there. Weiland came out in a Native American wolf head headpiece and scarves around his neck. He was very animated on stage. He then proceeded to take off all of his clothing except for his "Robert Plant circa 1973" pants that barely covered his "area". He talked a lot in between songs and seemed to really enjoy the front of the crowd. (see bottom of post if wondering why I specified "the front of the crowd").

Set list: I cannot find a setlist for this show online and was not familiar with a couple of the songs played...so think of the 10 most popular STP songs and throw in a few others...and there it is.

On a side note: The crowd was F'n lame!! We had GA seats that were in the back of the venue and a few people around us seemed into the show. But, the majority of the crowd stood in place during the entire show in silence. I realize that nothing will compare to the energy at a PJ show, but this was just ridiculous. I have never seen such a lame crowd in my entire life.

If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this

Had a similar experience with STP and the crowd. The band was very energetic and Weiland was interactive - even brought up a kid out of the crowd to do the beginning of "Dead and Bloaded". The audience aside from those in the front seemed to be enjoying the music, but those with seats were sitting down and the people in the back of GA were pretty still. Everyone sang along and cheered and all that, but not so much with the body language. It was different.
