Beck + Bumbershoot = AWESOME

Wow...dunno what to say...I was going to see Tim Finn and was actually sitting in the seats with 30 minutes to go, but I enventually decided to go try Band of Horses and Beck with my hubby...and I'm so glad I did!

I'd never seen Beck before or expressed any interest in seeing him live, but OMG! Did not dislike anything...and got reasonably close to the stage...Stupid thing is that he was in Victoria, BC on Wednesday night...anyway, we were VERY impressed with Mr. Hanson - and if by some miracle he ends up on the Bridge bill...well, all the more reason to go...

We also got to see David Cross today, which was pretty cool. I wanted to yell out "Tobias Rocks!"....or when he asked what was worse than a pedophile - I wanted to shout "Analrapist"....no! It's pronounced Ah-naaaahl-raaah-pist....

OK...I am VERY sleepy...spent 12 hours walking around B'shoot today...need a long break....

Oh...I found a Hovercraft poster for $5, which I bought...

    My Beck post about the fact that he's playing with his dad (for the first time ever) and an orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl fell on deaf ears so it's nice to hear some props. Especially the fact that he's working with a pretty traditional rock band now and no JMJ on the bass.

    Well I find it hard to believe he's been one since birth, if he has then yes I guess I've never liked him. I for one would never join a cult.......

    If your an atheist, more power to you, I have way more respect for any atheist. I just did a lot of research on Scientology after my friend told me about Beck, I found a list of famous actors and musicians and couldn't believe how many people were on it. Then I found out what they are all about and the things they do and I'd rather not give any of these people my money or support what they stand for.

    I've always been a huge fan of Chic Corea and Stanley Clarke, I found out they are both Scietologist as well, so I already have checked out other musicians. This is just my own personal choice, other people can do what they want, I'm not the kind of person that will tell people not to like so and so or listen to so and so just because I don't, freedom of choice and I choose not to support anyone who supports Scientology.

    i also saw the bumbershoot show. the sound was terrible for the beginning of the show. but at least it got better. i think this was my 6th time seeing beck...and he never disappoints.

    and to think back in the day, everyone thought he would be a one hit wonder with Loser....

    I'm seeing him at the Austin City Limits festival in a couple of weeks - very excited because he is one of my favorite artists. Last time I saw him was when he toured for Midnite Vultures in 2000 - great show.

    I was flipping through the new Spin at a record store the other day, Beck's on the cover and he talks about Scientology a bit. He also says that this might be his last tour. :(

    How did this thread about how good Beck was on Saturday turn into an argument about whether or not his being Scientologist means people are going to stop listening to his much? I dont see how that's anybody's business what he believes in anyway. It doesnt make his music suck...

    Yeah...so aside from the sound his sent was wicked! Quite enjoyed it...
