Good question. I'd like to see/hear someone non-rock do something radical to a song: I don't mean something like that cheesy techno version of Betterman that was doing the rounds on the 'net a few years back. I mean, something more like Richard Thompson doing a fun, cod-country version of Do The Evolution, with really deadpan vocal delivery. I think that could work!
I'd like to hear GnR cover "Alive" since Axl and Eddie share the same story about finding out in their teens that their fathers were really their step fathers.
I could see the Foo Fighters sing "Do the Evolution". That would be fun. How about Willie Nelson doing "Long Road"?
I agree on both these counts.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

I think they'd do a good job.
Maybe an older band... I loved it when Bruce Springsteen sang 'Better Man' with Eddie.

Hmmm... I think My Morning Jacket might do well with In Hiding...
That actually would be really cool.
First thing that popped into my mind would be a Radiohead version of "Sometimes." They could really run with that I think.
