Yea I never heard this band's songs but I have seen people talk about them on this board.

I am just informing those fans in case they didnt know that they will be on SNL tonight.

Rather than being birthed like a normal child, Chuck Norris instead
decided to punch his way out of his mother's womb. Shortly thereafter
he grew a beard.

i hope they play 'the view from the afternoon'.

and truly hope they can do better than 'fall out boy' who sucked hard last week.

HAHAHA Yes the Arctic Monkeys! Seriously I have never heard a song of theirs but I read alot about them on this board I think. I am gonna check em out on Rhapsody!

Anyone want to reccommend some songs?

the album didn't contain any 'whoa' standout track, if you know what i mean.

but the ones i enjoyed the most:

    'the view from the aftenoon'
    'fake tales of san francisco'
    'when the sun goes down'
    'dancing shoes'
'i bet you look good on the dance floor'

nice songs, but as i said nothing really big.

since i download the eps later i can only say that is between 35 and 45 mins after the show starts.
the second song goes usually 10 to 15 mins before the show ends.

So...that was the band that everybody and their brother is shitting their pants over these days?

that's too bad. They weren't anything special. I can see how people would be jazzed for them though. They're slightly better than most of the shit that has come out over the last 5 years...which makes them seem infinitely better by comparison. Thing is, they still blow.

Their album is solid, but nothing really knocked my socks off. I do enjoy "Riot Van", "A Certain Romance" and "The View From The Afternoon".

Well said, really the only thing missing is one or two really standout obvious singles. A band like The Killers can put out an album that, overall, isn't nearly as good as the Arctic Monkeys debut, but sicne it has "Mr. Brightside", it gets huge radioplay and will catch on a lot more in the US. Same with Franz Ferdinand. As a whole album the AM debut puts FF's to shame really, but there isn't anything as immediately catchy as "Take Me Out", so they aren't going to break big over here. Unfortunate because it is a really good album, just lacks something the radio can latch onto.
