That's the only band I know of from New Zealand actually.
We've got Neil Young in Australia...oh wait...he's from Canadia...damn
hehe
Wishful thinking.

do you mean your commercial exports like crowded house and shihad or native kiwi music?

Crowded House were claimed by Australia as an Aussie band............even tho Neil Finn is a Kiwi.........they were based in Oz
Split Enz= NZ
Crowded House= OZ

yeah it's like russel crow, depending on his behaviour. he's either an aussie icon or a kiwi serial pest
I like the finn brothers and I don't mind Brooke Fraser, I saw shihad last summer and they were ok. Scribe (is he the N.Z one??) isnt as bad as most rappers.
Australia still has better music and rugby players

I would like to disagree with you there, you could say that, but they had also been based in america for small times around the crowded house album and woodface, but ya wouldnt say they were american. They also never actually recorded in australia but they did record in new zealand with together alone. Neil Finn was a new zealander but paul hester and nick seymour were from australia, I believe mark hart was an american. Perhaps the most appropriate and fair definition would be an "australasian" band
just because a band is based in aussie that does NOT make them australian.
crowded house is NOT australian.

If this is in regards to my post, then yes, they are. But what I said was in response to Von's question, which was "are eskimo joe from new zealand" to which the answer is no. But ofcourse I knew evermore were from new zealand :-)

i'm not really much of an authority on nz music coz i'm quite young and most of my friends aren't into nz music and i haven't heard much of the more 'underground' stuff which is quite unfortunate.
