Someone should just put up a British post code for us Johnny Foreigners to use. :)

I missed out on it for the exact same reason! But I wouldn't have bought it from a tout anyway... so I guess it's all "gravy". Now: get a load of this! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_postcodes#Greater_London_postcodes

Buckingham Palace is about to sign the petition. :D

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

that is as maybe, but in the UK at least, we are talking about something which is basically organised crime. It is a huge organised racket that is causing music fans to be extorted out of cash. It's bullshit and it's a huge consumer issue that needs to be dealt with

deny them demand then. once demand dries up their 'illegal' supply will have no outlet. take some responsibility. i know it sucks when you want to see a band and you cant get a ticket. and if this is the reason then the people have to do something about it. if that means you have to sacrifice seeing a band then so be it. tis not like youve not got a fine example in the band we all here listen to.

I agree. I've said for a while that bands will not ask any questions until they show up to play a 'sold out' gig and the place is half empty. But it won't happen, even tho personally I would never pay inflated prices.
Just recently I've experienced it with the ac/dc 'on sale'. The hype here was tremendous, I could see it coming so I paid $40 to join the fan club which gave me a special code to get through for tickets. But then 4 UK dates, about 70,000 tickets sell out, in pairs, in like 10 minutes..... just can't be done. And within the hour the things are all over ebay, one guy had 20 tickets, how is this fair when apparently they were only sold in pairs???
This is just one example, it's going on with every popular artist here, and it blows!

personally i would like to see a return to the days when you ahd to physically show up at a box office to buy tickets. but with a strict limit on the number of tickets available to be bought by one person that is policed without mercy or exception.

that's not really viable, as much as I admire the sentiment behind it. Thing is bands just don't go to every town these days, how would I ever see anyone if I had to travel 50, 100, 150 miles or more, just to buy the ticket???!!!

    ok, sorry :D I see.
I hark back to the days when I had to get a bus at 6am into the city and line up until the 'venue' box office opened at midday, to get a ticket for Iron Maiden.....ahhh, those were the days :)

    Sorry about the English :o
The problem here is, you don't even know who they are anymore. There's always been guys with the 'entepreneureal' spirit who get a fist full of tix and show up at a venue on the night. But now that is not the problem, now the problem is people sat at home with computers, multiple bank accounts, and obviously some have 'dodgy ' agreements with ticket bastard or whoever. They don't need to leave the comfort of their arm chair, and it's spread like wild fire here.
