    Show Details
Flight to Mars (featuring Mike McCready) will perform a special benefit concert for the Northwest Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) at Seattle's Showbox at the Market on Saturday, May 3rd. Tickets are on sale now at http://www.ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster locations. Tickets cost $18 in advance ($22 day of show) plus applicable service charges.

Local indie-rockers Feral Children and singer-songwriter Kristen Ward join Flight to Mars for an evening of music in support of CCFA's continued work toward finding a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. In addition, McCready will perform a very special Tribute to Jimi Hendrix during the opening set and will be joined by brothers Rick and Chris Friel -- cofounders of McCready's original band Shadow.

In 2002 McCready made public his 20-year battle with Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis and has since been committed to raising awareness and funding for CCFA. "As a patient living with Crohn's and colitis, the CCFA has played a huge part in helping me get the support and information that I need," says McCready. Auctions will start this evening on eBay! :)

This year we're being sponsored by Seattle Sound Magazine and Heineken, which means even more money to be donated... just to name a few more cool tidbits... Ward Sutton is on board to provide art for a fabulous limited edition hoodie by Crash, who did the Canadian '05 tour hoodies.. Dumbgun has some groovy designs for the totes, the 10C has generously donated books, Hotel Max has 3 great hotel packages.. so much fun stuff!

At Mike & Ashley's request, this year we'll be upping our donation of both one platinum package and one silver package to Advocacy for Patients with Chronic Illness (http://advocacyforpatients.org/) in addition to the NW CCFA donations :)

Because I have overanxious syndrome what with FTM, seeing the Dalai Lama this weekend and leaving for Santa Barbara tommorrow, to see Nadia Salerno- Sonneberg- oh and that other guy who is playing the Arlington the next night- whats his name?
    Oh yeah,
    Liam- ;)

I bid for the silver auction, thinking it was the gold- oops- :(
This dyspraxia thing is really annoying sometimes.

But so excited - so much going on & I am really looking forward to the Jimi tribute-

It was so much fun last year & I enjoyed the luncheon too.

    I don't understand this message:

"You've just been outbid. Do you want to bid again?
Another bidder placed a higher maximum bid or placed the same maximum bid before you did. Learn more.
Increase your maximum bid to have a chance to win this item. "

It comes up no matter what sum I put in there and it still shows the same bid, whats the deal?
  • einatshauleinatshaul Posts: 2,219
o.k. I pressed "Learn More" and I think I got it... Still sucks.. whats the point of it saying 110$ if it's really 1000$...?

What package are you bidding on?

That message means you've been outbid. Someone has set a proxy bid (the max they want to spend).

    as an example....
If another bidder set a max bid of $500, and the current high bid is $300....they will pay $305 for the item. If you came and bid $350, the system will automatically bid $355 for them. This will happen until the bidding reaches thier limit of $500. If you bid $505 then you will be the high bidder and win the auction. If you bid $600 and the auction ends, you will win the auction for $505....unless others bid, then your bid will increase past thier bid until you've reached your bid limit of $600.

Looking forward to hearing her on the night of the third. Perhaps Mike will guest on the live performance as well . If the songs sounds as cool as "Ramadan" by Lee Rude and The Train Wrecks, where Mike also played and included a beautiful solo, it'll be absolutely terrific. I just mention LR&tTW since they also played on the bill with FTM , in 06.

Kristen is beautiful, voice, personality, looks.. the whole package. I love going to her shows. She plays rhythm guitar and harmonica and of course sings.. She writes her own music. Mike stepped into the studio with her on a track from the new album. The whole album is great. She is very young, 24 now I think? My daughter's age.

It just means someone has a way higher MAXIMUM bid than you keep trying. Say you bid $100 and you're immediately outbid at $102.50. It tells you to bid $105. You do and are immediately outbid at $107.50. This will keep happening until you get to the other person's MAX bid. If it's, say, $200 you could be the high bidder at $200.01. I'm sure ebay has some FAQs to explain this. Good luck!

No problem for the ride, although I'm not sure if I'm even going yet. :(

I think Garrett is going for sure though. I'll pass the message along.

Hey peeps, I have the honor of playing guitar with Kristen as well as playing bass with Flight to Mars. I wanted to let folks know that Kristen has put the song that features Mike on a RIPPING solo up on her myspace site:

    http://www.myspace.com/kristenwardmusic

It's called With you again. Can't wait for this show! I hope you all like Kristen as much as I LOVE playing with her. She is, in my humble (yeah right) opinion a huge talent on the rise.

If you listen to the guitar on the rest of her CD you'll know why toot is appropriate. Maybe honk is better?

Off topic....who's the FTM guy that also plays in North Twin? I have a couple of killer photos I took of him at Bumbershoot and want to give them to him at FTM...I'd feel stupid saying, "Hey you! That guy! Yeah, you!"

PS. I can't get Kristen's music to load for me on her myspace page...too popular?
