The Rain Song - Led Zeppelin

So I've always loved this song, but just rediscovered it this evening. It may be the perfect song, from start to finish. My god, the guitar in that song is just gorgeous. One of Led Zeppelin's best songs IMO.

    i agree. have been spinning Zeppelin all day. in fact im listening to Houses of the holy right now, and the rain song just finished.

    well played man! much more accurate sounding than the standard tuning efforts i have seen.

    easily in my top 5 acoustic songs. The strings and guitar match up so fucking perfectly to me. I love what jimmy does on it...but the strings really seal the deal for me. I love when Bonham comes in and they bring it home....................time to spin some vinyl!!!

    Yeah, I hear ya. I'd have to say Houses of Holy is probably one of my favorite albums, too. It is so consistently good.

    If you like this song, check out the Unplugged version from 94, its amazing - Jimmy on acoustic guitar, and a backing orchestra in place of JPJ's mellotron.
