questions about Pink Pop

first i wannta say, 2008 has been a pain in the ass so far.
i watched pink pop tonight and damn if it didn't work. cheered me right up.
thanks pj, i love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my brain ponders:

why was it called pink pop?
what's the story behind the cow?
why the doll as the logo?

and
hehehehe

    "Pop" is the Dutch word for doll. Pink is short for "Pinksteren". My dictionary says that's Dutch for Whitsun (never knew you call it that way if it's the right translation). Pinkpop usually takes place around Withsun. And ofcourse pink = pink. That's why the doll wears a pink dress.
    Don't know anything about a cow though.

    the camera only showed the cow about two times.
    kind of like the bat in MSG. small toy or prop, sat on the stage.

    Sorry to hijack the thread. Is anyone palnning on going? The line up so far looks like:

    Foo Fighters, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Counting Crows, Editors, Flogging Molly, Paramore, Alter Bridge, The Wombats, Racoon, Moke

    Not too shabby! I would love to, but what with having already bought tickets for Reading 08 and Foos at Wembley I think I'll have to give it a miss.

    Any word on the Leeds/Reading lineup for '08? Might go depending on the bands.

    I'm fairly certain that I'll be heading to Pinkpop this summer!
