2 Tickets to TOOL at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland...$400
Gas to get from San Jose to Oakland and back...$50
1/2 oz of Hundu Kush, 1/2 oz of Bluebery Northern Lights...$250
Seeing TOOL in a 3,000 seat venue while puffing spliffs...PRICELESS

Good luck tryin to get away with smokin. Any theatre I have been to see a show(St Lou Fox, Rosemont) has been really strict on smoking, cigarettes or otherwise. No questions asked and you are out, depending on the security.

BTW, thanks for supportin those scalpers.

Ticketmaster seems to have deals with these ticket brokers that allows them to get tickets before the show goes on sale. This show seriously sold out in less than 5 minutes...I was denied at 10:00:01, so in my mind, it never went on sale.
At that point, with a supply of 0/3000 and a demand of 20,000 (there has to be 20K tool fans in the bay area at least), 200 for a ticket seemed like chump change.

Isn't scalping what America is all about?
Making a profit. Advancing your own self-interests.

Does it suck that the REAL fans have to pay? Fuck yeah. But what am I gunna say? Excuse me Mr. won't you lend me your ear? I'm a hardcore fan, could you cut me a break and take a 100% profit instead of a 300% profit?

In that case, we should ask all vendors to stop marking things up.

Besides, money is money is money is money...you have some sometimes, sometimes you dont. I have a little now, might as well spend it on things that will stay with me for a lifetime like PJ and TOOL shows...

I got tickets to NYC for both Friday and Saturday. I had to camp out in the cold and rain all night to get them...and my car got towed the next morning (which cost $300 to get back, ugh).

But I got tix so I'm happy, happy, happy!!! :D

I don't want to be hostile. I don't want to be dismal. But I don't want to rot in an apathetic existance either.
