Led Zeppelin to reunite
ROCK legends LED ZEPPELIN are set for a reunion tour after singer ROBERT PLANT finally caved in and agreed to join them.
Guitarist JIMMY PAGE, 64, bassist JOHN PAUL JONES, 62, and drummer JASON BONHAM, 42, had resigned themselves to touring without Plant.
They even rehearsed with stand-in singers - and one American was so impressive they were confident they could hit the road next year without Plant.
That was what finally persuaded him to return.
A source revealed: “The rest of the band had all but given up on Robert joining them, but they were determined to go ahead so had started to seriously explore other avenues.
“When Robert realised the band were serious about doing it without him, it made him think long and hard.
“He realised he couldn’t face the thought of not being involved.
“The band were over the moon when he told them the news.
“They are now forging ahead with the tour plans and they can’t wait to get on the road.”
The tour, set for next summer, follows the massive success of their one-off reunion show at London’s O2 Arena in December.
Led Zep, who have sold more than 300million albums worldwide, formed in 1968 and split up in 1980 when drummer John Bonham - father of Jason —-died aged 32.
Rolling Stone magazine dubbed them the biggest band of the ’70s.

nah it was jack white ...
And, I for one hopes he sticks to his black country guns. As far as I see it there's at least 2 more albums left in the Strange Sensations
First thing I did when I saw the Led Zep story was go to the Inforoo message board to see if discussion was heating up.... I remember last April when Bonnaroo said there was a "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT" there was so much speculation Led Zep was being added that it practically crashed both the Inforoo and Bonnaroo boards....

yeah, who/what is this bloody source?
I'm not gonna get my hopes up before the tickets go on sale AND it's mentioned on the ledzeppelin.com, on the front page, not just the forum.
and obviously I too love what Plant is doing now and wouldn't like the idea of him caving in to tour just cause the other lads are thinking of having another singer..
I doubt it, BC Place, Qwest Field or Safeco is more likely.

I had heard that they were gonna have another singer...I was like FUCK THAT!!
Thank God Plant caved. I NEED to be there...it will REALLY hurt my Credit Card, but I gotta see them once in my lifetime.
Robert has not caved in, it's tabloid bollocks. If the others are that desperate that they'll go on tour with a different singer, well I just find that absolutely tragic :(
But at last Robert has ended the speculation....he's not up for it and that's the end of it.

part of me is happy. part of me is sad.
im glad robert isn't all about $400 tickets and i also didn't think that the latest one off reunion show was THAT good(i have the cdrs)
but, it would be cool to say "i saw led zeppelin". damn.
you have every right to be smug.....lucky smug bastard!
Where did you see 'em?
yor real old, right
HA!
fuck all reunions just think about it once you brake up with a girl/guy and 10yrs later you meet up again it's never the same it just doesn't work ,good for plant ......but at least i saw them twice
1975 nassau colliseum .....
1977 yeah i'm an old man ..........msg
It would be cool to see Zeppelin, but I wouldn't want them to reunite unless it was permanent.
i understand your position and don't necessarily agree. it certainly would have more merit if there was some new music to accompany the reunion tour...which is why i passed on seeing the police and why i saw csnyx2
having said that, if gabriel went backwards i'd be A OK if he rehashed everything, for a one off tour
