Saw David Gilmour at Radio City Music Hall Tuesday night, he rocked!!!!! Although Pearl Jam is still my favorite all-time performer, of course.

I'd love to see Gilmour, he's my favorite guitarist ever. Besides Mike of course.

I was at the Wed Radio city show. Ive seen gilmour solo (1984), waters solo (pros and cons and radio kaos) and the floyd tours without waters.

Heres my take on the Gilmour solo show:

First set was the entire new record, although out of order.
    Three songs were brilliant:
On an island, take a breath and smile. Take a breath was simply awesome lights music the whole package.
David Crosby and Graham Nash sang a couple tunes with DG.
That being said there was about a 20 minute lull in the set. SOme of the new stuff is just very slow and mellow. Little bit of a mood killer.

    Second Set:
Shine on you crazy diamond pt. 9 with crosby and nash doing the harmonies-again awesome, the whole package.

Than a few acoustic songs including obscured by clouds-pretty nice, but again slowed thng WAY down.

The real highlight came in the middle of the set when he did the Breathe>Time>Breathe medley. Cant tell you how great the guitar sounded on Time and how good the vocals were on Breathe.

Echoes to close the second set- great to see live and a fantastic light show to go with it.

Encore: Wish you were here, find the cost of freedom (acappella with Nash and Crosby) and comfortably numb to close the show.

Great show and great to see him playing live again. Show ranks a 7.5, because in both sets there was a good 20 minutes of really slow sleepy music that killed the mood. Overall, I was a little disappointed. Im glad I went though.

    Anyway, just my opinion.

I heard a bootleg from Paris and would have to agree that it falls out with the new music and the second set; No real concept just a group of songs he wanted to play. I would have loved to have seen him in the 80's with his solo albums but he isnt playing much of them.
Wait and go see Roger Waters who will tour in the fall or next year. He is much better at reproducing a Pink Floyd type concept show.

Also hopefully he wont be charging 100 bucks plus a ticket.
