This week, Dark Side of the Moon has been on the Billboad charts

It's estimated that one in every 14 Americans under 50 own a copy.

The last time it hit #1 was in 2003 when they rereleased the hybrid copy.

Just some cool factoids.

    thats one hell of a run, i don't remember it hitting #1 in 2003 though...that's cool though that it did.

    i think my life would be dramatically different if not for this album. i love it. Gilmour's Time solo and Any Colour you Like are my favorite parts

    I have owned at least two copies in the cd format. I think I have owned both cassette and vinyl at one time or another. The eight track might be the only that I missed. :)

    ive never owned dark side of the moon. im not entirely sure ive ever heard the whole thing from start to finish either. that's pretty crazy though. where does it sit on the list of all-time top sellers?

    It's up there, the Wall is ahead of it still, but its top 10

    It wasn't number #1 on the Top 200 album chart, but on the 'catalog' chart. Dark Side will never be on the Top 200 again, because after x amount of time, all albums are ineligible for that particular chart. They instituted that rule because Dark Side had been in the top 200 for so long.

    Ony because the Wall is a double album. Divide those numbers in half to get the actual amount of albums sold.
