I just rediscovered MONSTER and I like it more then I did when I first bought it in 1994.
Definitely one of R.E.M's best albums.

One of my favourites. I never understood anyone's beef with Monster, I think it's a great record.
I think they were expecting something a little softer....maybe something more similar to Automatic for the People (and really, how can you follow up that album?) and were let down.
Personally, Monster was the album that got me listening to REM.

One of my favorite R.E.M. songs too. From one of their most underrated albums. It's actually easy to forget this song is even on Monster. But so good.
raw Rem is best ... "I took your name" & "Bang And Blame " are other honorable mentions
Strange Currencies is still a great song though.
