hey,

Im wondering if people can give me some ideas of some good quality new bands out there today. You know, ones that you wont get sick of after two or three listens. Im keen to buy some new CD's and want to buy some quality new stuff!

Im into pearl Jam and Kings of leon at the moment.

Is there anything else worth listening to at the moment?

if you're in melbourne check out k-oscilate, they play heaps of shows at the espy, among other places. bass/vocals/turntables/synth/semi-electronic drums, they play kinda drum'n'bass cross alternative stuff, very unique sound, well worth checking out... am i right in thinking you're from aus??

i'm not a fan of wolfmother but that's just me, plenty of people are. i did also hear that their live show is first rate, coming from other people who don't like their recorded material either, so i guess they must be doing something right.

k-oscilate don't have an album "out" yet, they just sell cds at their shows, which are mostly in melbourne. still if your tastes extend outside the realm of pjesque stuff then i highly recommend having a look/listen if you get the chance. another great one from melbourne are the grand silent system, again a bit unusual and again a kickass live act

I know you mentioned them in your first post, but for me The Kings of Leon are the best band since PJ.

It makes you wanna jump around and sing your heart out... his voice is so unique...its like marmite...you either love it or hate it :)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
