I seen Greg and the boys on Sunday night, what a show. I was considering going to se WASP (for the comedy value) who were playing 2 doors up, but I was not disapointed. Me and a few friends hung around afterwords and got all their autographs and some guitar picks, excellent.

  • That's so cool! I'm going to see them on thursday. What's Dulli like in person?! Did they play any Afghan Whigs?
  • They did'nt play any whigs tunes, however lanegan joined them onstage to play where did u sleep last nite, followed by sideways in reverse. They opened with Teenage Wristband too which rocked. Dulli seemed a little wrecked after the show, but because the venue was pretty small we headed outside to see the tourbus there and had a few minutes chatting with Scott who was cool enough to go onto the bus and grab us a signed setlist and a few guitar picks. Gotta love seein the band in such a small intimate venue.

  • They were AWESOME last night, seriously one of the best live bands around. I almost forgot that Lanegan would make an appearance at some point cause I was so into the show, then he suddenly appeared from nowhere and you heard THAT voice, wow!!! Anyone that gets a chance to catch the band on this tour would be a fool to miss out.
  • i was meant to be seeing them in london, but had to miss the show as i was ill. i'm gutted.

Somebody else loves the Twilight Singers!!! Saw them last week in Manchester and they were simply stunning. No Whigs played at that one either, but didnt matter. Gig of the year by some distance. (Thats includes both PJ shows in Lisbon).

Dulli and Lanegan are both amazing frontmen for such different reasons. Dulli has so much charm and swagger, but Lanegan wandered on to sing his songs, didnt speak, didnt even open his eyes, sang, then f#cked off again, but that voice sends chills down your spine. It was the first time Id ever seen him too.

    Dulli is just pure genius.

I was a huge Whigs fan, and was letdown by the first Twilight Singers album. Picked up 'Blackberry Belle' a few months after it'd been out expecting to be disapointed again, but it was amazing, as good as the best Whigs album. Powder Burns while not as good is still a great album - loving this band right now. Also 'Amber Lights' Dulli's sort of solo album despict being released earlier this year it actually is his work between the first 2 Twilight albums is worth getting 'Pussywillow' is one of his best ever tracks.

I read the Whigs have got together to record a couple of extra tracks for a 'best of' and if things go well they may record a new album!!!

To me the Twilight singers have got better with each release, the first one was ok, second one had some great stuff on it, the covers album was damn near genius, and Powder Burns is them hitting their stride big time. I can't wait to hear the Dulli/Lanegan album. And as for a new Afghan Whigs album, I can only hope and pray!!!
  • Just listening to the She Loves You album, what a fucking genius Greg Dulli is. As I read in a recent review of their new ep, it seems that everything Greg Dulli touches these days turns to gold.
