is the reason why i love the new album so much, what an awesome guitar player he is.
Who cares if the world is going down the toilet? Eddie Vedder got his mojo back!

I agree. The guitar playing on that album is unreal. Its such another level completely.

When I buy new cd's, I always sit on my bed close my eyes and just let the music flow over me.

With this cd, I had my eyes closed, then when it got to a John solo, I would jolt up, in my bed.

I totally agree. John Frusciante is amazing on the new album!

Yup, probably the best guitar work ive heard from him.

If he wasn't on the album it would be mediocre.

I too will have to agree. John Frusciante never seizes to amaze me when it comes to his guitar work. Granted Flea is amazing and so is Chad Smith, but John's guitar work, especially on the past two albums has really created a new path for the band. His solo album is pretty fucking sweet too.

Agreed. His solo stuff is just amazing too. So chilled and mellow but electric at the same time :)

he's moved way up on my list of great guitarists......I'm loving the hell out of the new cd(s)......his vocal harmonies blend nicely with AK too......

He's amazing at everything he does, his solo albums are superb.
  • I don't think he's back to the form he had during BSSM, but he's definitely getting close. If he wouldn't have completely screwed himself back in 91, he would be on the list with the greatest.

Eventhough I don't think he has totally regained his chops, he is definitely one of the most important guitarist of our time.

    lol..awesome!
hes an awful lyricist...cant get around that

i rate frusciante as one of the most creative american guitarists of his time, along with incubus' mike einzeger
I've seen so many people try and copy Eddie Vedder's voice. It's as if if you don't sound like him you're not a man. - Emmett Roslan

Got to agree, Einzenger gets nowhere near the respect he deserves, seriously underated.

My friends and I were just talking about him this past wkend on the drive to Cleveland. With out a doubt he is an amazing player!! His solo stuff is incredable...I saw the Chillis a few yrs back and we were lucky enough to get 2nd row right in front of John and it was magical watching him play, just incredable, he blew us away!

AK's lyrics are getting better with each album. Some of the lyrics on the new one are amazing.

JF's solo stuff is better than bands stuff, in my opinion.

Not comparable in any way, me thinks.

I dunno if I would say it's better. It's so hard to compare the two when they are competely different styles. John's style within the band is more rockier but solo wise it's more mellow and chilled.

Who said I'm comparing the music. I don't like Chilis' music (with the exception of Mother's Milk), but I do like John's music. Simple.

John Frusciante is the man, he is my favourite guitar player along side Mr. Mike McCready of course, i want to have a tattoo of Mike McCready on my right arm and John Frusciante on my left arm.... John's solo stuff is amazing, but if it's better than his band music with the peppers is a matter of taste, i love his solo stuff, but love the red hot chili peppers even more because there are 4 great players all contributing their individual talents......

i only got one album of John's solo stuff, but the work he's done with the chilis is chilling. Sex magik, and californication are freaking amazing, especially californication for pure awesome John stuff, just check out This Velvet Glove
